As a general rule, when the battery voltage drops near or below 12V when the robot is idle, you should change the battery.

The funny thing is that my robot would do this at 12.5v idle. But thanks for the information. I'll look for the light indicators next time it happens. That's assuming it my robot isn't on the field during competition.
