NE FIRST Granite State District Pridictions
Overview-
One of the oldest events, but always a thrill. The Granite State District is being held in Nashua New Hampshire on February 26- 28. A Thursday Friday Saturday Event. Being a first week District event makes it very challenging to predict the outcome. There are many factors such as; is the robot actually built, the amount of driver practice, and understanding of the game/strategy.This makes week one events some of the best competitions to watch or attend.
Sure bets-These teams are going to play a significant role in the outcome of the competition and are highly likely to be found in the elimination rounds:
190-is a team you will find in every corner of the country and at championship every year. This year they will be competing at 3 event traveling as far as the PNW. After a strong performance at Alamo last year, they returned to NE to win their home event WPI. Look for this team to try and continue their winning ways at Granite State.
131- Since 2011 this team has been one of the hottest teams in NE. Through 6 regional/district event they have 1 win, 3 finalist, 1 chairmans, 1 Engineering Inspiration, and 2 judges awards, and was ranked 10th in NE last year. They always have their robot ready to play, look for them to continue Their success at Granite State.
1519- when it comes to top teams in NE 1519 has proven they stand among them. Since 2011 they have played in 8 district/regional events, and have tallied 3 wins, 4 finalist, 2 Engineering Inspirations, and 14 judges awards (including deans list) not to mention they were Einstein finalist in 2013 after winning their division. Placing 7th in NE last year, this team is the favorite to take the blue banner home.
Sleepers:These are teams to watch as they could end up sneaking their way into the finals
under the radar.
885- The green team has been a consistent contender at Granite State making it to the elimination rounds the past 4 years. in 2012 and 2013 they alliances with 1519 for finalist and semi finalist positions respectively. keep your eye on this team throughout the event.
811- This team has been to granite state every year, and has been a contender in eliminations. Coming of a year where they brought home there 2nd chairmans, placed 14 in NE and was a match away from winning their first blue banner. look for this team to keep their momentum up with a strong showing at Granite State.
138- Number one seed and winners of this event last year entropy is always a factor at granite state, because they have always attended this event. Team 138 had a breakout year last year getting there first blue banner. Look for them to try and double up at Granite State.
2nd year teams to watch:
5163- It will be there second time at Granite State and they will be looking to improve on their first trip.They will try to continue with the momentum they ended last season with at Rhode Island where they were Finalist.
4905- It will be this teams 1st trip to Granite state, and look for them to make a name for themselves as they try to improve on their rookie All Star Awards from a year ago.
Rookie Team to watch:
5400- its hard to tell which rookie team is going to shine, but I have a good feeling about WARP I have heard good things about this teams so look for them to make a name for themselves this season.
Dark horse-
246- If I know my engineers, no one should count overclocked out of this competition, l will be looking for them to make some noise at Granite State. alot of noise!!!
