All in all really nice video.

Hey Edoga,

I wanted to respond a little bit. We generally feel that the awards video is less about what we've done than how we've been impacted. While the essay, presentation, and executive summary are all about our outreach efforts and the like, our video is used as an impact statement and a way to let the students tell everyone why FIRST is as important as it is.

I would love to send you our essay if you are interested. What you caught on the video was two of our events. Our Red Stick Rumble is an off-season event that brings in 23 FRC, 15 FTC, and 10 FLL teams to both compete and engage in a fast-start. We also hosted the first official FRC Kickoff in the state at LSU this year. This is added to the first FTC qualifier that helped motivate over 25 teams to launch an FTC program within two months.

I could go on - but time and again what amazes me about my team is not about the stuff that we do but about the hearts that we touch. Our primary goal is family. . . especially because many of my kids don't have the best families. Most are looking for a father, brother, mother, or sister to fill that gap in their life. I think that is often one thing that Chairman's bypasses. Our most recent awesome event? We managed to get two teams line dancing with us at a restaurant after the Arkansas Regional . . . not to call out anyone in particular but Bomb Squad definitely has some rhythm.

Lastly, thank you to all of the kind words from the rest of you. I won't lie and say that winning a Chairman's Award one day isn't one of my top bucket list goals, but until we find that magic though, I will enjoy our own reward - my family. My Panthrobotics.
