Surprisingly, they posted the score without any Coop points (not even a set)
After a long delay (seemingly teams were discussing with refs), the announcer said the the refs had decided to count the stack. However, instead of a rules clarification he said it was in the spirit of GP that they counted it.
After another match, he tried to clarify that ruling by implying that they had moved 842 away after the buzzer and since the stack stood for 3 sec that is why it counted (not because coop points are awarded instantly and can't be descored).

Is there still confusion among the refs at Arizona over the nuances of Coop points scoring or is the announcer just not conveying their rulings well?

If it is just announcer confusion, it might be good for the audience of varied rules familiarity to explain how the coop stack points score permanently (3 secs after robots break contact, many refs give a hand count). Perhaps an extreme example, where 842 decided to disassemble the scored Coop stack and place the yellow totes upside-down on top of step containers and still scores 40 pts, would drive home the point.
It was a confusing moment. I think since coopertition was never descored, everyone thought it could be descored. We of 842 didn't intend to try and descore the co op. Our driver is pretty new with maybe only a week of training so rookie mistakes happened every now and again. We apologize to anyone who thought we might have done it on purpose and to all teams it could have negatively affected. But yes everyone thought for some reason that co-op could be descored since it was the first time it happened at the event. The refs figured it out and corrected their initial mistake. Don Knight, our beloved game announcer tried to explain it the best he could but if their is any confusion, this is the straight answer here.
