Watching video from the Australian Regional, it appears he is just very enthusiastic when he opens the chute door. He sometimes releases the tote at the top of the chute, and attempts the door before it touches the door, but this is not always the case. You can watch him break a handle off at 2:09:50 in this video

If I were a ref or volunteer, I think I would have to warn him about that, 3132 played in 20 matches, breaking the handle off the door every other match is ridiculous, considering there are plenty of other teams doing the same thing that have never broken one.
