Unlike districts, the rankings haven't stabilized yet, even with only 1 or 2 matches to go. Because the scores are so high, one bad match can cause a team to drop 15, 20 or even more places. And then it's hard to come back, even with good scores, more than 3 or 4 places per match.
And with so many teams, there are many congregated around score ranges. For example, there are 16 teams in the 155-165 range now. Somebody scores a 180 or 200, they jump up. Then another team gets a good score, and they pass them again. The teams keep going up and down.
It's going to be interesting to see who survives in the top 16, how much in-picking there will be, and how far down in the ranks the #16 captain was originally.
