It's a pretty simple set-up really. We use a Panasonic HC-V520 video camera on a tripod to record the matches, with someone manning it to turn it on and press record before each match, and turn it off afterwards. The person either holds up a piece of paper or their cellphone displaying the match number to the camera right before each match starts to ease in labeling and organizing the footage later on. After each day, we move all the footage from the SD card onto a laptop, and then clear the SD card for the next day. We have two different SD cards - I believe one is 64 gigabytes (though it might be 32), and a backup 4 gigabyte card. I don't know how much data our St. Louis footage ended up being since I wasn't there, but I know that our MAR Champs footage was 66.3 gigabytes, with just over 100 qualification matches and also elimination matches. We record each day's opening and awards ceremonies, and alliances selections, too. I keep our videos from throughout the year saved on my computer, but delete them after the season is over, as long as they are uploaded onto our YouTube Channel. We back-up the footage on our school's server and/or a 1 terabyte external hard-drive as well.
