So, the thing with satire is that it is based in some truth, which is why it resonates with audiences so much. Satire is often not funny in a "haha" sort of way but a "this makes me uncomfortable" sort of way.

When writing satire, expect that people will be outraged by your assertion. Don't get defensive and declare, "It was just a joke!"

You made people uncomfortable with your attempt at comedy. TBH, I didn't find it funny. Maybe others did, and that's fine. People find different things humorous. But maybe it also wasn't the best joke to *start* with. Your other one about programming was a better introduction.

The other thing about comedy is respecting timing.
