Re: FRC Team 525 Swartdogs on Chinese News!

The CRC event was actually mentioned on CCTV's "Xinwen Lianbo", which is watched by more than 100 million people nationwide everyday.http://v.qq.com/page/k/0/x/k0017spl60x.html. I'm surprised at this because "normal" news don't get on this show, the government is very involved in the production of this news program.

Quote:
The CCTV's main evening news broadcast Xinwen Lianbo has a daily audience of around 135 million people, and it is also one of the most expensive shows in the world per advertising spots, with its 2013 advertising slots selling for a record of 5.4 billion yuan.

This program is used as a medium for the state to announce government announcements and meetings, commentaries on major economic and policy issues, and the activities of national leaders. The program reflects official positions of the Chinese government on a wide range of matters. Some accuse the program as serving more as a means for the state to divulge its political agenda rather than to examine the day's important news events. It has been criticized both within China and internationally for its lack of neutrality. Despite declining popularity, it remains a widely watched program.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xinwen_Lianbo
