If you score the most points in a match, you win the match. Then you are given 2 ranking points for the win. (Or 1 ranking point for a tie.)
You also get additional ranking points for the BREACH and CAPTURE.
That means you can earn up to 4 RP's per match.
Once all the matches are complete, the team with the most RP's is ranked #1 for alliance selection. The next highest total is #2, etc. There are tiebreaker rules to determine the order of teams with the same number of ranking points.
Once you hit the playoffs, there are no more ranking points.
