Depends on your strategy.

1> The low bar is always in a known location (position 1).
2> It is the shortest route from your secret passage (where boulders are entered) to the enemies tower.
3> assuming others think as you are, you can add to an alliances capabilities by being able to damage that defense.

So, again ... it depends on your chosen strategy.
