It could be that you are wasting time by thinking that it's an "either/or" situation.
I would strongly consider the possibility of performing more than one role. If all goes well then you will have a very capable robot. However if later in the season you realize that you can only complete one role or only need one role then you can pick the better of the two, instead of choosing one now and finding it was the wrong choice.
