Re: One week in, what are you doing?

At the risk of tilting at windmills and putting this thread back on track:

We've moved from strategy to design and begun prototype. As of Thursday, we had built our first (motorless) prototype chassis using larger than 8" wheels. We have a backup chassis design based on multiple ranks of FRC 8" and smaller wheels still working as a plan B. We have selected the general location and operation of our boulder pickup and launcher, which will fit on either of those chassis designs. Tomorrow (Saturday, really one week in), we'll build a powered prototype of plan A to verify defense crossings, and continue maniplulator engineering! If Plan A fails or looks iffy, we'll place orders to prototype Plan B.
