In the recovery menu there was the option to do an advanced boot which after restarting gave me the option to boot from USB, however after seeming to work for a couple minutes a blue text box came up with the message that said "System doesn't have any USB options. Please select other boot option in Boot Manager Menu."
I'm not sure if this has any effect on what I'm trying to do but do I have to activate windows first?
