The NIVision documents are installed here ... C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\Vision\Documentation

The CVI documents are what you are looking for. You may also be interested in the Concepts document, though it isn't in that directory and I don't seem to have a viewer for it. You can find a pdf of it by searching the NI site.
