Maker Education Position at Southern Methodist University

Hey All,
Many of you know that I used to run the on campus Makerspace at SMU (called the Deason Innovation Gym) before I went to work on REV fulltime. I was recently contact to let know that they are expanding their staff so they can do more cool stuff with students on campus, and I was asked to help recruit some folks out of our community that might be interested.

It is a very cool place to work, with flexible hours, good people, good pay, and a ton of fun.

Here is the official job description and link on where to apply. If you have any questions about the position I am happy to tell you everything I know.

"We are looking for someone to join the Deason Innovation Gym team to help envision, operate and maintain a state-of-the-art makerspace that serves hundreds of students each year with the tools, mentoring and programing to make, tinker, prototype and hack. Want to work where you can help people make a foosball table, vinyl stickers, quadcopters, holiday ornaments and innovative solutions to complex human problems? This is the job for you.

You must be proficient with tools common in a makerspaces (3Dprinters, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, power tools, electronics [microcontrollers like Arduino and Raspberry Pi, as well as sensors, amplification, LEDs, etc.], coding, etc.), both in using them for engineering applications as well as keeping them running smoothly. You must be an educator at heart who loves working with college-age students to help them develop their maker, problem-solving and engineering skills.
