For years, my team just had 6 people scouting at all times and then one person with a laptop typing in the data to a spreadsheet after the match.

More recently we did what others above me have said. We took a summer to develop and android app that can be altered from year to year that sends data to a spreadsheet for us.

I would recommend using paper if no work has been started on another system as of yet. it's a little more tedious, but its a relatively simple way to get the proper scouting data.
