As that is the only persistent defense, and our major goal is to take a shot at the high goal, knowing what defense we will have to go through is crucial.
You will know what defenses your opponent's selected before your match (selection happens 2 matches before, and you get the layout one match before. This is in 5.5.10 in the manual). There is nothing wrong with using the Smart Dashboard to communicate autonomous modes prior to a match either.
