Worse, if our robot is halfway between two ramps of the batter will we gift TWO scales??? If the opponents attempt to challenge the tower there shouldn't be any G11 protection.

Teams play defense at their own risk. If there is any serious chance that your robot will break down, don't put yourself in potentially compromising situations.
