Re: KISS

This whole discussion is ridiculous because you guys are making judgements on how to best play the game based what has been successful at week 1 regionals which is the lowest level of play and on top of that you guys are mostly talking about the least stacked regionals of week 1.

One thing that is different about this game is that the best strategy for quals and elims differ a lot. And at the lowest levels of competition the ideal quals strategy would also work in elims. The best elims strategy is to be a reliable and consistent high shooter even under defense and you don’t even need to fly over defenses like 118, just don’t be slow. This is because in elims a tower capture and defenses being breached are a given. In quals however the best strategy is to be able to breach defenses super-fast and smooth and score low easily. This strategy will get you the most ranking points and it’s ideal in elims at the lowest levels of competition because a tower capture and defense breach isn’t guaranteed.

*When I’m talking about the best strategies I’m only talking about for the period between auton and endgame because there’s no debate about those parts of the game*

So in fact the robot type you are refereeing to as being “an extremely strong robot” IS a minimum competitive concept because it’s successful at the lowest levels of competition.

You framed your discussion as what’s the best strategy for Stronghold when it is actually “what was the best strategy for week 1” those two are wildly different. And you don’t even have to wait for district champs or worlds to see that I am right, just tune into Los Angeles, Central Valley and particularly GTR East next week. Until then end this discussion.
