The Banner sensor has four wires.
  • Brown connects to a 12v supply, either from the PDP or from a 500ma output of the VRM.
  • Blue connects to the associated "ground" of the supply, either the PDP or VRM.
  • White or Black goes to the SIG pin of a DIO port on the roboRIO.
That's all. The White wire goes active when the sensor sees a reflection; the Black wire is active when the sensor does not see a reflection.

The "load" on the diagram is misleading. It isn't something you need to add; it is provided by the internal pullup resistor on the roboRIO's DIO pin.
