A similar stolen robot trailer incident happened in 2013. 4603 from Mexico had their robot & trailer stolen before the regional. The team did not have spare parts or a practice robot.
Many of the Alamo teams pooled together to help the team build a new robot at the Regional and they reached the
2013 Alamo semi-finals !
