After nine years our team finally qualified for the championship and we're excited to be heading to St. Louis! We're weren't happy with the hotel that we got through the FIRST provider so we booked rooms at the Hotel Avyan (formerly a Holiday Inn Express) near Lafayette Square. Online reviews of this hotel are mixed and we know nothing about that area. While it's not within walking distance it looks like it should be a quick drive to the Dome.

We'd appreciate hearing any opinions about the hotel and neighborhood with our primary concern being whether it's a safe place to bring a group of high school students.
