We have gone to three regionals and have steadly improved at each one making improvements.
We are now at 100% with the following:
4 drive motors on a two speed gear box. Fast is fast and slow is powerful, we have shown we can push bots around. With six pneumatic tires we have super traction.
Our automous mode ( we have many ) will hit the bins in ramp run in 2.4 seconds to 2.8 consistantly taking down 60% or more of the bins.
We use a Virtual Compass Guidance system in automous mode. This is a self correcting system that uses a virtual heading of north and all movements are relative to this using redundant encoders on the drive motors.
We are strong and can use our arm to reach stacks blocked by a bot.
Note: For durability we have each joint clutched to prevent overloading and stress reducing repairs.
