Summer outreach things happening in our neck of the woods:
CNU STEM Community Day, June 4
Hampton Roads FRC teams demonstrate their robots to around 3000 visitors. A great opportunity to do some low-stress practice with your robot, and more importantly, to do some fun outreach and networking with the visitors and exhibitors. Full-size wooden practice field in the center of CNU's Freeman Center-- this really showcases FRC as the centerpiece of the event.
Triple Helix RoboCamp, July 25-August 5 (two week-long sessions)
The camp, intended for rising 5th through 8th graders, is designed to teach core computer programming logic and reasoning skills using a robotics engineering context. Campers will learn fundamental robot design and programming techniques as they build robots to complete a number of unique challenges as efficiently as possible. The camp will culminate in a fun and friendly competition.
Youth Day at NASA Langley Research Center, August 2
This year’s event includes hands-on NASA STEM activities, interactive exhibits focused on NASA research, facility tours and more.
