Charlie Bolden is Awesome.

I mean really awesome. As we were wandering the airport in St. Louis on our way home we noticed him sitting and waiting for a plane. We struck up a conversation with him and he spent about 15 minutes talking to some of our students. He was genuinely interested in what their goals are for their future and was very encouraging to them. We were also able to thank him for the NASA sponsorship we have received over the years.

Even better it turns out he was on our flight from St. Louis to Chicago. Two of our students sat by him and he talked to them for the entire flight about the things NASA is doing. They got off the flight saying it was the best hour of their life. It means a lot that he was willing to take some time to talk to impressionable high schoolers about science and space flight and their future.

All in all it was a great end to an incredible week at champs.
