I'm a big fan of competition and choice.
It makes me insane when I hear a school administrator say that you cannot do
X because we already do
Y. And too often it is from an administrator that doesn't know the difference between
X and
Y.
FIRST and SkillsUSA are different and they overlap, and both should be vigorously supported.
I'd like to go visit next year.
edit: FIRST and SkillsUSA are different beasts with different goals. So the comparisons are a little Apples and Oranges because of the different goals. That said I'm a big fan of competition, and organizations observing and learning from each other in order to better accomplish their
defined missions.
