Re: Better Preparing For Build-Season

During the off season we train the entire team on CAD basics. We have a set of objects we have them build. If the student is already proficient in CAD, then they help the other students.

We are still struggling with the best way to organize CAD work during the season. Certainly one person working on a part at a time is expected. Then we usually have a mentor work with the assemblies. Even then this process is really tough and prone to issues.

We don't have a database of CAD drawings. Most things are custom CADed and for COTS items we either pull the drawing from the place we purchased it or more likely make simplified parts to use with only the essential details in the part.
