Sorry, that isn't right... Steam is water in its gaseous form.
All vapors are gas, they just happen to be a gas that is below the critical temperature which means they can be condensed by pressure without lowering the temperature. This also means they can coexist with liquid water. (this depends on pressure)
Steam is always a gas.... it could also be a vapor in certain situations but not always.
