As a last ditch effort we got our bulkiest zip ties and made an awesome chain tensioner by wrapping one the around the chain loop. This is actually a very reliable fix by the way. It doesn't sound fantastic when it's running, but it will last many matches without replacement. It is easier on the zip tie if its just tensioning one side but works on both.
