What would be the purpose of your tryouts? What would cause a student, in your evaluation, to not make the team?

The point of FRC (in my opinions) is to teach the kids that might have no skills, new skills. By having try-outs to even join the team, you are immediately discouraging anyone who might think that they "know nothing about robotics" from even thinking about joining the team.
