Re: paper: Team 4904: Bot-Provoking Gantt Chart Tool

Looks familiar...I've been working on an excel sheet that's quite similar. Hmm. can't post an attachment in this forum, and it's not polished enough to be a white paper.

Anyway, other simple things I've done you may want to consider:

I have a column for "supporting" subteams for each task, then a calculated one which concatenates the lead and supporting groups. Then, you can filter on that combined column with "Contains" to limit the view to tasks which require just that group. I also have a subteam called "whole" which fills the combined cell with a concatenated list of all the subgroups so that everyone's limited view will still have milestones like kickoff, bag day, and key decisions.

I have columns which display the day-of-week of the start and end for each task.

My color coding is different - For non-task days, I have white and light gray alternating on a weekly scale. For task days, I have colors coded to the number of hours we plan to work that day; closed shop is palest, 6+ hours is brightest. (the number of hours is in a row just below the dates).

And OBTW, I've been selecting all of the "left side" cells and doing a custom sort, first on start date and second on end date to rearrange things when something is added or modified - this would be A4:F13 as your google sheet is now.
