Make sure you know how many gears are worth scoring. If you know that your alliance can score six gears in a match, go for it. If you are the only gear scorer, and can score only five, however, there is no point in scoring more than two. This game is very much about prioritizing scoring, and the balance between raw score, and kPa score.

Essentially think of each rotor as a check box. If you know you'll be able to cross it off, go for it. If not, use your time elsewhere.
