The biggest ones:

1) You can actually buy a new AM14U3. We sold off the last AM14U2 frames over last summer, at which point it was officially discontinued.
2) The AM14U3 is designed to accept the Toughbox Micro, as Nick demonstrated. This makes mecanum options vastly simpler.
3) Holes are slightly different on the inner and outer plates, to enable that mounting.
4) Though both drive systems will absolutely run either, the AM14U2 shipped with 4" HiGrip wheels in the 2015 kit while the AM14U3 has shipped with 6" HiGrip wheels in 2016 and 2017. (To match, the AM14U2's standard gearing was 8.45:1 in the Toughbox Minis while the AM14U3 runs 10.71:1.)
5) AM14U3 supports a square chassis right out of the box; teams had to buy custom belts to achieve this with an AM14U2.

The AM14U2 product page is still online, so you can compare and contrast with the AM14U3 to your heart's delight.

(Full disclosure of the painfully obvious: I work at AndyMark.)
