Not having shifting gearboxes is, in itself, unlikely to prevent a team from being competitive.

Don't get me wrong, I like shifters as much as the next guy, but to say they're the minimum requirement to have a competitive drive train/robot is somewhat ridiculous.

Edit: Still some really cool work by the folks at WCP-- I've looked forward the past few years to seeing what you come up with for an MCC, and it's always interesting. Keep up the good work!
