Re: FRC in 2070

By 20270, I'm confident that breeders will have developed much faster and stronger horses; and that chemists will have developed a candle wax that provides at least twice as much light (with less smoke) than current waxes supply.

To say that another way, whatever we extrapolate now; that extrapolation is likely to be off-target.

Competitions might involve designing and growing artificial life/food/biobots and/or curing a hypothetical disease
Competitions might involve only virtual creations in virtual environments
Competitions might involve developing mini-factories that must, in turn, autonomously design and develop products that satisfy a surprise challenge.
Competitions might involve producing agents that attempt to maximize profits in an economy (including defending/attacking in cyberspace)

Or, on the other hand...

Competitions might involve physical FRC "robots" competing in physical FRC games. Just because it's 50 years into the future, that doesn't mean that human nature suddenly stops liking monster trucks shows and other forms of (near) mayhem. US football, baseball, and basketball are all much more than 50 years old.
