Ah yes, the struggle to find a summer job. Well, I started turning in applications in early May, and only two employers have gotten back to me since. Both of which have interviewed me, hired me, had me sign up for hours, and THEN ask me how old I was.
"Oh wait, how old are you?"
"Um, 17..."
"Oh, I'm sorry, you have to be 18 to work here, sorry! Call us back a week before your birthday."
STUPID PEOPLE. You should have told me that BEFORE I even filled out the application, much less gone through an interview. Geez! Anyways, I'm still looking for a full time job, but luckily my friend helped me out and his dad's restaurant hired me for the weekends, and they're paying me quite well. Good luck to all you summer time workers out there. Don't forget it's the summer, so have some fun while you're at it!
