Wow. That's exceptionally overkill in my opinion. We don't need to make a working Johnny five, we just have to get it there. And Gentoo does have that advantage of performance so I think it should be considered. But having a neural network seems a little extravagant given the situation. We need to conserve resources, electrical power is one of them. Also, moving parts should be avoided, and a SCSI rack costs a lot of money. I think flash memory is a good idea though. Also, what image processing, I dont understand why we need that, anything worhtwhile to obtain would require much more power and time then worthwhile.
Some good points and some bad (IMHO), keep em coming guys.

I'm a FIRST relic of sorts, I remember when we used PBASIC and we got CH Flightsticks in the KoP. In my day we didn't have motorized carts, we pushed our robots uphill, both ways! (Houston 2003!)
