i used to live in woodstock, yes,
the woodstock, NY (except that the concerts weren't even held there, but that's another story...), and even though I moved when I was only 6 or 7, I still love going back up state.
it's not because there's less people, more that there's more nature. i love going hiking and biking, and i love going up the large hills (the catskills aren't really mountains, technically) and just looking out over miles and miles of the country side.
i think because of that, if I could, I'd take a house back up state if I could. nice and big, somewhat away, but not too far from a town (woodstock for instance, is only about 10 miles, if that, from Kingston, a small city that had everything you really needed).
if i could have a second house, it'd be somewhere on the beach, because i've grown so used to the beach living on Long Island. Hell, I live less than 20 minutes from about 7 or 8 different beaches, about 30 or 40 minutes from 2 or 3 ocean beaches. upstate, well, there's lakes, i guess...
can i have two houses and borrow one of dean's helicopters as transportation...?
