At first, contacts can be very difficult to put in. It took me an hour the first time I was there. I got one eye in but couldn't get the other.

Now in the morning I can just pop them in, no problem at all.

For me, I use my left (non-dominant) hand and use my middle finger to pull down the lower lid. Then I use my index finger to pull up the eye lashes and push them against my eyebrows. This leaves my right hand free to insert the contact. I tried it the other way and couldn't get it to work.


If you want to prepare yourself early, you could wash your hands thoroughly, apply some disinfectant (ie contact clensing solution), and work on your technique of keeping your eyelids open. Then, insted of putting a contact in, gently touch the white part of your eye.

Just work on it every other day (you don't want to irritate your eye too much).
