Program to Convert Mpeg to Mp3?
I am looking for a Program to Convert an Mpeg to a Mp3 file.

I just want the sound from the Mpeg file!!!

Basically that's all I am looking for, oh and a free program would be even better, If I can get it done by Friday afternoon and I will be happier than a pig in mud!!!

I tried just renaming the mpeg to .mp3 but that gives me annoying beeps in the file, I actually snag the sound but it beeps.
Nasty sounds, unbearable really!

If no program exists, which I'm sure it does, can I just run sound recorder and hook up a jumper cable from my audio out jack to my microphone jack??

I'm thinking this will arc my speaker card, but if it'll work I'm willing to try it.

The only problem with that I see, is that MS Sound Recorder only records 60 seconds worth of sound while the mpeg I want to record is 4:19 in length.

HELP!!!!
