Lightbulb Latheing an earth magnet

Well all I have returned from my yearly anti burnout period and am ready to get cracking on some projects........

What I am wondering is if you can mechene (lathe, mill, ect...) an earth magnet...

theres a project that I am working on that requires me to lathe one to a certin shape and was wondering if it could be done..
