...When you along with two other submanagers of your team go "hop-ing" (Skipping quickly while giving small leaps and bounds throughout) through the multimedia lab to get to the robotics lab, and the multimedia teacher says to you on the way though "Oh, the C&C machines are here?"
...When you've now got three of the school's teachers coming to the meetings (Robotics teacher, Programming Teacher, and Physics Teacher)
...When you keep asking your magnet coordinator* for things and increasing in the amount of money you spend with it.
"Can we have 500 dollars at Home Depot to spend on parts?...We can?...Can I get a drill press?....I can?...Can we buy a lathe?....but Ely got one!....YAY....Can we get it with a C&C attachement?"
You know you your SCHOOL's addicted to FIRST when...
...It agrees to buy whatever you ask for if it relates to robotics
...It's currently in the process of buying a segway
...It kicks the yearbook class/committee out of their room because that room is more suitable for a machine shop.
*Magnet Coordinator: Broward County schools created a magnet program system, in which certain schools are deemed to have specialties. Dillard High School has both the Performing arts magnet and the Emerging Computer Technology Magnet. So, our school, in theory, gets all of the high technology students from around the third largest school district in the country. Each magnet program has a coordinator, in charge of running that program from all ends. Ours is amazing, and great at her job. Thus, we get everything that we're allowed to, and some things we're not
