Sometimes life throw us challenges when we least expect them. Some of them easy, some of them very hard. I had to face a similar experience a long time ago when I lost a college friend on a trip, and it was not easy. So I can imagine how you must feel, John. No one deserve to go through similar experiences, yet accidents happen, and we all face them the best we can. Some might choose to quietly sit and think about the friends they miss, others might choose to talk to friends... You simply have to decide what's best for you.
Just know that all of your friends are here if you need them, if you want to talk.
My thoughts are with everyone who's affected by this accident.
