In a preliminary drive test, we are making a bundle of torque in low range, and are almost uncontrollable in high. I agree that these transmissions are suprisingly tough. But driving screws into 25 year old pine puts a little stress on the trans too!

Our team almost went that way, too. Now as we pop breakers with the drill motors in high gear (2:1 on output), I'm kind of wishing we did. :/
