OK, it has been about a month. The "RMP" is the "Robot Mobility Platform" model. There are only 15 of them. DARPA is currently sponsoring a program to examine the use of a modified Segway, and the RMP models have been developed for use by the project teams. The robots being developed by the project can tap directly into the Segway control system, and allow the robot to "drive" the Segway by directly providing control signals (i.e. the robot doesn't have to "lean forward" to make the Segway move). The most advanced (so far) is the "Segwanaut" (an upgrade of the Robonaut Project) shown below, that was recently demonstrated at several locations in Washington, DC.
