It's a Johnson F-P motor, but different than the 2002--in fact, it's specs make it in some respects closer to a 2003 Mabuchi, most notably in the free speed. But it's got much more torque (almost 2x), and more power (about 1.7x), and better efficiency. That's more in keeping with the old Johnson.

The old Johnsons were prone to overheating and failure, though--much more so than the Mabuchis.
