In Manchester at the clinics I believe we were told that teams could use ANY 7.2 Volt NiCad battery for this purpose. Before you purchase one and have it sent all the way from Texas (Innovation FIRST) Check and see if this is correct and look at a local hobby store. We also participate in BEST robotics and we use 7.2 batteries to power those (smaller) robots so we have a bunch of these around.
Another issue was recharging these batteries. The controller will NOT recharge these batteries while hooked up so they have to be recharged OFF the robot.
