Question 1:
Rule: Bumpers must be located in a region from 2” to 8” above the playing field surface.
Question: What about 1" to 10"?
Answer: No, you become outside of the 2"-8" boundry intended by the rule.
Question 2:
Rule: ... The definition of “hard” is one of common sense, i.e., if you can punch it and not hurt your bare hand, it is ok.
Question: Would a 1/16 polycarbonate panel be allowed as a bumper?
Answer: When properly mounted, punching a 1/16" poly carb piece will hurt your hand when punching it.
This rule is INTENDED to allow people to have a soft foam-like material for TAKING a hit without a high impact load on both robots.
