This is why animation is so hard. Everyone wants to build robots, and there is plenty of documentation to help a rookie team.. Want to build an animation that can compete.... it will take at least 2 years of learning and probably more like 3-4. Dedication is all the help that I can give you, but try going to 3dcafe.com or 3dtotal.com they have great tutorials that can get the ball rolling. Even if you don't put forth an awesome animation, you can only improve, so keep up the hard work, it will pay off.
